Dukhtaran-e-Millat on Wednesday issued statement to Kashmir News Observer (KNO) and asked the people to observe the upcoming Eid ul Fitr with austerity to remember the martyrs who have laid their lives for the Kashmir struggle. In a statement, DeM spokesperson, Rifat Fatima, also asked people to hold special prayers for the release Kashmiris prisoners who are languishing in Indian jails mostly on false cases. “As the Eid ul Fitr is approaching, people must remembers the martyrs and their families and must observe it with complete austerity as a mark of remembrance and respect for the recently martyred Kashmiri youth in particular and other martyrs in general,” she said. She said that the whole Kashmir valley is in grief as the brothers and sisters are being martyred by occupation forces on the daily basis.

“ Forgetting the pain of these families will be ironic. So we must celebrate this Eid with austerity and in complete solidarity with the families of martyrs and political prisoners,” she added. Expressing grave concern over the illegal jailing of party chairperson, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, general secretary, Nahida Nasreen and press secretary, Sofi Fehmeeda, Rifat said that the trio continues to be jailed on false and fabricated charges. “

This will be the third consecutive Eid that Baaji Sahiba and Sofi Fehmeeda will be spending inside jail. This is not only an absolute abuse of human rights but also inhuman. How could this puppet government keep them jailed on these auspicious occasions? This seems to be deliberate ploy to break their resolve but these stooges must understand that it is impossible to do so,” she added. Rifat said that apart from the trio two other young innocent girls have been kept continuously under detention on false and fabricated cases which is mostly condemnable“Police across Kashmir has started a crackdown against the members of DeM and attempts are being made to break us.

We will die but won’t budge,” she added. She asked the puppet regime to release the party chairperson who is suffering with multiple ailments and other party members as they have been framed under false charges. Rifat also asked people to pray for the release of thousands Kashmiri prisoners languishing in jails across JK and in Indian jails. She said that prisoners including Dr Mohammad Qasim Faktoo Sahab, Dr Muhammad Shafi, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Bilal Kota Sahab , Javaid Ahmad Khan ,Khan Sopori Sahib , Masrat Alam Bhat, Sheikh Nazir sahab ,Feroze Ahmad but , Hafiz Zia Mustafa sahab lateef Ahmad Waza Mirza Nasir, ,parvaiz Ahmad Mir ,Mufti Nadeem Sarjaan Barkaati, Shahid Yousuf Mehrajudin Kalwal and thousands of other Kashmiris including old men , women and innocent children are in jails.

“India is trying hard to suppress Kashmiris in every way it can but has failed and will fail in the future as well. I appeal people to remember the jailed Kashmiris in their prayers and pray for their release,” she added. Rifat while commenting upon the so-called dialogue offer by the Indian government is nothing but wastage of time. “ It is a well thought out sinister ploy of Indian government to waste time and also to hoodwink the Indian and the International community,” she added. She said that such futile exercises were done in the past as well but yielded nothing. “In the past, such exercises only dented the reputation of the resistance leaders and India was able to discredit them among their own people and nothing came out of such dialogues in past ,” she added. “Only solution and only condition that needs to be discussed about Kashmir issue is the ways and means of holding a referendum in Kashmir so that people can exercise their right to self-determination,” she added.
